KAROLINA BEATS SERENA - US OPEN WOMEN'S SEMI-FINAL

Serena Williams vs Karolina Pliskova. Result: (2-6, 6-7).
Karolina Pliskova made big surprise in semi-final. She managed to beat Serena Williams in two sets and will play for the first time in grand final of US OPEN. The last and only time they have faced each other was two years ago in Stanford, when Williams won with 7-5, 6-2.
Czech tennis player had a good start in first set. She had very strong and precise service (leads the WTA tour in aces), while Serena made a lot of mistakes. Karolina made two break games and manage to win in first set with 6-2. 
In the second set Serena improved her game, both players had excellent service, after 6-6 goes in tiebreak. Karolina managed to win in tiebreak with 7-5 due to errors of Serena. 
Serena will lose first place on world rankings list (WTA) after failing to reach the final. Her place will take Angelique Kerber regardless of the outcome of the match with Carolina Wozniacki.
