MALAYSIA GP RACE

This weekend will be held thirty-seventh Malaysian Grand Prix of Formula 1. Malaysian GP is held on the track Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur -Selangor, Malaysia (Selangor is the one of the 13 states in Malaysia). Sepang International Circuit was built in period from 1997 to 1999 and the first Grand Prix is held in 1999. The track had good and amazing facilities, and it became the inspiration for all of Formula One’s subsequent new tracks.

Sepang International Circuit is designed by the German engineer and auto racer Hermann Tilke. The track Sepang is one of the most technical circuits in Formula 1, the combination of long high-speed straights, and tight twisting complexes make the track very complicated, but also perfect for overtaking as the track itself is very wide.

The Sepang International Circuit has seen a large number of changes ahead of this year’s race, with the key aspect being the resurfacing of the track which has made tyre strategy a head scratcher for the teams, as all three compounds of tyre appear to be working well.

Some facts about the track:
  • Sepang International Circuit is length 5.543 KM
  • Number of laps: 56
  • Race distance 310.408 km
  • Fastest lap achieved by Juan Pablo Montoya in 2004  lap time 1:34.223
  • Last year winner - Sebastian Vettel - Ferrari
  • Most victories between the constructors have Ferrari - 7 victories (1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2015)
Currently overall F1 championship lead Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg. Аt the last race in Singapore, Hamilton was trounced by Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg, who took his eighth win of the season to move into an eight-point lead.

Nico Rosberg who has won two more races than team-mate Lewis Hamilton this season - said he was hopeful of another strong weekend.
For mediums Rosberg said - " It is always a big challenge against Lewis. Everywhere we go it is always difficult to beat him, he is the benchmark, he is the world champion, it is an exciting battle. I do enjoy beating him when I can so I will try again to do it here."

In ahead of the Grand Prix of Malaysia, Lewis Hamilton admits he must improve and says that he needs to "drive better" this weekend to get his world title campaign back on track. Lewis Hamilton has been in Malaysia since the start of the week doing promotional work for his team and their sponsors.
